Se7en

Before you get excited that I’m becoming a sociopathic serial killer like the guy in the film Se7en, I want you to know that this is, in fact, nothing to do with that. It is, however, a seven deadly sins blog challenge procured by a #UKWriter by the name of Lady Antimony. This is also a flash fiction challenge, which means lots more lovely flash fiction for you.

The challenge begins in just over a week for a week. That’s right. I’ll be posting a piece of flash up here every day for a week.

Every day one piece of flash fiction will go up. It will be 100 words in length and each post will cover one of the seven deadly sins. And what date will it start on?

The Kreativ Blogger Award

It’s been just under two weeks since I gained my first blog award and this is my second! For this particular award, I have the lovely Ren Thompson to thank from her blog at Ren’s Corner.

Those of you who don’t already read Ren’s writing should go on over and have a snuffle through her stuff.

There are, as always, a few duties associated with this lovely blog award that I must attend to. If you’ve seen these blog awards before then you may already know what the duties are. If you haven’t then here are the rules:

1. Pass the award along to ten other bloggers and notify them

2. Share ten random facts about yourself.

So without further ado…

The Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award

I was going to use this here post to explain why I put up A Grave Gift on Wednesday instead of Friday as usual, but it turns out that I’ve received my first ever blog award from @JWHankins over at SCRIBEREGLYPH.

My thanks to him and my suggestions to readers of this blog to go on over there and have a nosey at some of his stuff.

In the interest of not forgetting about the duties of receiving this award, I’ve chosen to regale you with my tales of briefly changing flash fiction posting days for some other time and instead to plough ahead with the tasks of award recipients. But first, these are the award rules:

1. Thank and link to the person who nominated you.

2. Share seven random facts about yourself.

3. Pass the award along to 15 deserving blog buddies.

4. Contact those buddies to congratulate them.

So without further ado…

A Collection of Random

First on the list of random things: #UKWriter. This is a new hash tag for tweeters that two lovely ladies, @AnneMhairi and @LadyAntimony, created in order for writers in the UK to connect with each other. They observed how few UK writers there seemed to be interacting with each other on twitter and decided to do something about it.

I must admit that I often noticed how a lot of my writing contacts on the network are from overseas rather than from this side of the pond, so to speak. So if you are a UK writer and you feel like finding the rest of us, please try the hash tag. It would be nice to get in touch. Along with the #amwriting tag and the Aspiring Writers Pledge, I think these are great ways to get writers connected and talking.

And now onto some other news.
