Waking In The Afternoon

In case you hadn’t guessed by my absence, I’ve been at work on an eleven days before having a couple of days to relax (during which I was encouraged to sleep & then taken for dinner by my lovely Howard Bear). Slept in until early afternoon on my second day off.

I know, I know… How lazy. But I think it means I’m relatively caught up on sleep for now, which is incredibly nice as I’ve been unfortunately irritable over the past couple of weeks due mainly to tiredness. For this I apologise to everybody.

We also had to fix my car battery before we went shopping on Sunday because somehow it had run dead, which is worrying as nothing appears to have been left on. Of course, that could mean the electrics are still faulty (gee, thanks previous car owner).

Reminiscing On Writing

Almost sent an email today to someone I used to know to see if he was still alive, then I didn’t. Instead I closed it and left it as a draft. I’m not sure why.

I guess it’s because I’ve been reminiscing and for a while that person was quite prominent in my life. I suppose if he wanted to get in touch, though, he’d email and use my new address, because I gave him it last time, even if I was cagey.

Things change, though, and sometimes it takes a lot of awkwardness before you get to a more comfortable footing.

I Should

…Start writing short pieces of fiction again. I used to write flash fiction once a week as I’m sure a lot of you know, but I haven’t done so in quite a while.

It was a great flexing of written skills (which is what I hope to promote in #SatSunTails every week), but I lapsed due to work commitments and home issues.

Now, with the completion of Preying On Time (which is in its second editing stage) & the release of Desecrated Bonds, I feel I should begin again. But I guess we’ll have to see how I go with that considering certain time constraints.

I am, however, hopeful.
