Seasonal Book Trumps

I’ve been fiddling around with different ways to grab attention on social media for my books, lately, and, although it started off really nicely, it seems to have dwindled a little since then. I suppose it’s no guarantee, though.

On the upside, it does mean that we’ve trumped my previous best sales year by quite a bit! Which is a good thing, unlike some other kinds of Trump that are blowing about these days…

Horror Movie Survival Kit–[Top Ten Items]

I had an email recently from the cool guys behind ManCrates. They’re a gift service that specializes in crates for men that contain awesome gifts. The idea is that you have to open them with a crowbar to get into the goodies inside. Pretty cool in my opinion.

In fact, screw men. I want a crate I have to jemmy with a crowbar. Why should fellas have all the fun?

Although, to be fair, it would probably take me forever to open it, even with a big hunk of metal to help. I could, however, get Howard Bear to wrench it open for me, which might be useful when it comes to the subject of today’s post….

If We Won The Lottery

Is a regular topic of conversation in our abode at the minute, which is quite silly, really, as my other half refuses to play unless it’s a rollover. He’s also worked out how much we’d need to win in order for it to be “life changing” and how much interest we would earn off it.

Anyway, I thought I’d share with you guys exactly what we would do (because we probably wouldn’t be the most conventional lottery winners).

On asking my other half what the first thing he’d buy would be, he replied ‘chicken’. By which he meant southern fried chicken take away (one of our favourites to get). He said he’d get that as a treat for us, whereas I thought I’d take us to a nice, slightly more expensive than usual restaurant where it would be quiet enough for the two of us to hear each other without lots and lots of people being there.

The duct tape stopped him from moving, hands strapped to the worn fabric of the old Volvo. He wondered who would find him. Scratch that. He wondered if anyone would find him.

She’d parked the car a long way from anything.

Any other day he might have appreciated the vibrant grasses and the soft melody of the great outdoors, but today? Today he wished he’d got her something more expensive than a locket.
