New Job, Mother’s Day, Book Sales, & Birds

This past weekend, I had my first day at my new job and, as usual, I managed to start on a day that was busier than expected. Of course, I don’t mind at all being thrown in at the deep end. Sometimes it even helps you to know what you should and should not be doing.

It’s definitely different to my last job, but I have to say that I’m already absolutely loving it.

So far, the people are great to work with and the whole atmosphere is amazing. I feel so lucky that I managed to get a job at such a fantastic place.

Grand Finale

So, for the last three years, I’ve been part of a fantastic team at our local Pizza Hut. That’s right, I’m finally revealing the name of the restaurant where I’ve been working. Having now finished there, I feel like I can tell you about it more openly.

It’s been three years of ups and downs with some brilliant team members and even a couple of great managers. I’ve made some great friends and there are a lot of people that I will truly miss working alongside.

Valerian Root, Hearts, Boilers & Lists

Despite the fact that I’ve been doing quite a few hours at the day job lately and am incredibly tired, I’m still no closer to finding a way to fall asleep easily. My brain doesn’t shut off until after one nearly every night. It’s terribly frustrating.

And, of course, the more that I want to go to sleep, the longer I will end up lying awake.

It’s gotten to the point where I’ve heavily invested in herbal teas. In particular, I ordered a lot of valerian root tea. It is well known for its sleep inducing properties, but it’s also effective as a stimulant to cats.

Hospital Visits & My Writing Wage

Only two subjects for today’s blogpost, but I have a feeling that they may take up quite an area so it would be cruel to try to stuff extra bits and pieces in here and there. Of course, we must deal with the first topic first and the second topic second. Because that makes the most sense, right?

So if you didn’t come here wanting to hear about why I was awake pretty much all Friday night and had to make a hospital visit this week, then skip on ahead.

This is my dad. He’s given up smoking recently. My parents have both tried to do this years before with no success, but this time it has to stick. We were in Whitby when this photo was taken, which was a few years back, at least.

My dad had a job at the time, but he was made redundant about a year or so ago. I told you recently that we were waiting for several hospital appointments regarding some dizzy spells and such. Well…
