It’s been a long while since I last blogged. In fact, it’s been a long while since I’ve typed anything at all on my laptop. Normally, I would apologise for that, but the title says everything.
I did, however, do something creative and finally finished my second patchwork blanket (a bigger more intricate one) for my little girl. Not to brag, but it’s in the picture above.
Unapologetic
I won’t be making any apologies for taking time off from writing. It’s not that I don’t care, but I have been busy experiencing the first six months of my baby’s life as a new mum. And really, right now, I think looking after my daughter every day and seeing her smile is probably the best thing I could be doing.
I only wish that involved less Mr Tumble.
That said, I do hope to be able to start getting more writing done soon. It feels like it’s been forever since I last wrote on my untitled project.
Untitled Project
My (as yet unnamed) Work In Progress is about a third of the way written; though, I can’t guarantee when it will be completed, edited, and published. At the very least, I’d like to aim for next year, but if 2020 taught us anything it’s that we shouldn’t count our chickens before they’ve hatched.
Thus, I will simply leave you with the knowledge that I do have another book in the pipelines, but that it might not be ready to read any time soon. It is the start of another series and it has more of an urban fantasy feel to it.
I may even have mentioned it before in a previous blogpost. However, baby brain means I really don’t have much capacity to remember any of my previous entries. Moreso with them written so long ago.
Sweet Child Of Mine
Thank you to everyone who congratulated us or sent their thoughts after reading my last post. It feels like a hundred years ago and yesterday all in one go. Little lady is six months old now. She already has four teeth and more on their way. She’s already eating a lot of solids and desperate to be on her feet even though she can’t quite crawl, yet.
She’s so special.
After her birth, with the complications and blood loss I was left quite emotional and fairly mentally distressed by it all. We only recently had an appointment that went a little way to explain what had happened and set straight a lot of things that had become muddied earlier on. I’m still suffering with some of the consequences. I’m also still traumatised by it.
Not to mention that the aftercare from the hospital has been pretty horrendous. There have been ridiculously long wait times on services I desperately needed, plus, I’ve had to request a lot of things that I should have automatically been referred for. Especially considering the surgery I underwent amongst other issues. The only plus is that non-hospital staff such as my health visitor have been fabulous.
RIP HRM Queen Elizabeth II
I feel like I ought to also acknowledge the passing of our Queen. Regardless of whether you’re a royalist or not (I’m in the latter camp), most people in the UK have come to know her as a sort of staple. She was there, unmoved and unswayed.
And now she’s gone.
Rest in peace, your majesty. And good luck to your son in his new role as king.
Post Haste
Anyway… Please keep buying and reading my books. Share them amongst your friends. Or even your enemies. Even enemies need a good distraction every once in a while. And don’t forget that I love and appreciate all my readers.
Thank you so much.
Stay safe. And keep reading.
