It’s been an incredibly tiring week. It’s also been my birthday week.
Yep. That horrible, annual event designed to remind you how many times you’ve travelled around the sun.
The Money Monster
Money, money, money… It makes the world go around, but it really sucks when you haven’t got any. That isn’t to say that I’m not getting paid by work. It’s just to say that the date for my car crisis is looming and money seems to be running like water through my fingers.
Everytime I get paid, it seems like I have to spend on yet more things that randomly crop up. Top of the list, however, is getting a car. And we have been looking, but, as proved by the Punto debacle, it’s hard to find a good, solid car when you don’t have much to spend.
I just wish this money monster would stop eating all my hard earned cash. There’s still things to pay for in regards to my best friend’s wedding next month. Plus, I need a new laptop and a comfortable chair to sit in whilst I write.
At the moment, my chair is the worst, most uncomfortable chair that I’ve ever had the displeasure to sit on. The only positive about it is that it was free.
So as far as finances and the new car need go, I’m quietly crapping myself due to the start of April deadline & previously mentioned expenses. Not to mention admin/cancellation fees on insurance and taxing etc…
A Gardener’s World
On a happier note, I’ve been planting things in the garden. Gardening always makes me feel better. It’s starting to get green again, but I’m sure all that will change with the prophesied cold snap.
I’m quite disappointed, really, because the sun had started warming all of our plants. The idea of flowers blooming was making me feel cheerier despite the money issues. But now, it looks like I’ll have to wait a little bit longer.
More positively, there’s a Gardener’s World group on Facebook, now, that means I can get advice from other gardeners and show pictures of my plants to people who don’t just think I’m nuts!
Birthday Toil
This year’s birthday was spent at work. It wasn’t too bad, to be honest.
A lot of regulars came in and two of them even got me a little cake and a card, which was nice. It’s the first birthday I’ve worked in a while. Usually, I try to take them off, but I’ve got the weekend free so hopefully that will make up for it a little bit. Maybe I’ll even get a new car. Who knows?
I did get taken out for dinner, though, by Mr Bear…
Meal Time
That’s right. Twice in the space of a week!
First of all, our Valentines meal at The Bay Horse was absolutely superb. I genuinely haven’t enjoyed a dinner as much as that in quite a long time. In fact, the last time I did was at Rustique. And I would even go so far as to say that the quality was on par. Even if the style was very different.
And yesterday, for my birthday, we went to one in the Marsten’s pub chain. It was nice as usual and we both ate off the specials board. Then we came home to watch television. Nothing exciting. But it doesn’t have to be exciting as long as we’re together.
Jasper Updates
I bet this is the bit you’ve been waiting for. More pictures of our little monster!
Well here they are.
And on that note….
