Nothing exciting has really happened since my last post. I wish I could say that it had. I worked a lot over the weekend. Thirty hours plus, in fact, and squeezed in attending a wedding reception amidst that, too.
Incidentally, do you like the cupcake pictured above? It’s from the wedding reception I attended. It was for one of the chefs at work, Mr Joey Cullen, and his new wife Stacey. He made it himself.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to the wedding itself, but Howard and I did have a lovely time at the reception. And, despite the fact that my feet were killing me, I did get up and have a little dance. Although, that was to my detriment the following day. Alas!

Having said that, it was another colleague’s 21st birthday last week (it seems so long since it was my own!), so we are going out on Bonfire Night (remember, remember the 5th of November!) to celebrate her youthfulness. Perhaps that will mean some even less classier dancing. We shall see!
Until then, I have a few days off before I’m back at work. I’m hoping that I’ll get some written work on Calling The Wolf done in those days, but I decided to shake up the plot a bit after not being too happy with the order of it. I felt like it made the story drag a little too much, so I’ve rejigged and it should be much better than before.
It’s also Halloween today!
Normally, I would have planned a Halloween party or something, but this year I have no motivation to do anything except sit on my sofa and scribble things. Besides, as I’ve explained, I have a couple of social events to keep me busy.
In a bid to make me feel better, as well, Mr Bear bought me some lovely flowers. I took a couple of photos and popped them on instagram, but, if you don’t have that, you can spy them here.
He bought the roses first, but they didn’t last as long as I’d hoped. However, that didn’t matter too much when the second bouquet replaced them on Sunday. My Bear is so lovely to me.
Tomorrow my plan is to enjoy my flowers whilst employing some self care. And by that, I mean I’m going to relax a little, admire my bouquet, write some fiction (or at least finish the replotting I started), and possibly even draw.
And on that note…
Ciao for now!
