I realise that I haven’t posted in well over a week. Of course, there’s a very good reason for that. I have been sorting out Forgiving Zander and making sure it is edited and that I am doubly sure it is as good as I can get it.
I know you guys have been waiting a lot longer for it than I originally anticipated. That’s not because I haven’t been doing my utmost to bring it to you. I promise that I have. But here come my excuses…
Those of you in the UK will know that we had half term last week and regular readers are aware that my day job is waitressing; so, as you can imagine, my last week was extremely busy on the old work front.
And one of those days was a charity day where we were raising money and awareness for Cancer Research, which meant that I ended up doing a whole day whilst dressed as a pirate. And let me tell you, running from one end of the restaurant to the other in a pirate outfit, complete with bandana and tricorn hat, is not what you really want to be doing if you don’t want to pass out from heat exhaustion.
I didn’t, but just assume that I was incredibly warm.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, it was a bit of a crazy week. Somehow during that time I did, however, manage to finish editing Forgiving Zander and tonight I finished my read through. What does that mean?
It means that the amazing G L Drummond (one of my Katarr Kanticles Press colleagues and an awesome writer) now has it and will be looking to format it and create a cover soon. Of course, I say soon because we are currently entangled in problems with Createspace…
As you may or may not be aware, we’ve been transferring the control of my current books into my hands. We’ve also been sorting out Breaking Cadence and Baying For Blood in regards to making them into paperbacks. We started with Breaking Cadence a few days ago. Since then, however, we’ve had a back and forth with the Createspace team about the cover template. It seems that we can’t ever get it right, but I can’ actually see what the problem is when we have clearly ensured that the cover is within the template parameters.
Both of us have sent emails now and we are awaiting their reply. Hopefully they can direct us in accordance to the problem with the covers we’ve submitted and that should speed this process up.
As for the Winchester brothers? I finally got around to buying a box set of Supernatural. Sadly, it’s only series 1-6 but that’s better than nothing and, to be honest, I’ve waited so long to get back into it that I don’t really care. It’s something to replace Hex for Howard Bear and I to watch together, which is always great because it means spending time with each other – even if it is simply to watch more television when both of our brains are fried from work.
And on that note, I’m signing off. But, just to let you know first, the first two chapters of Forgiving Zander are up on Goodreads for you to check out just here.
