It’s half term over here guys and as such, with people off ill/on holiday too, work has been a bit hectic and stressful. It also meant I ended up working eleven days straight and one of those days was from 9am until just past 10pm.
So, as you can imagine, I was pretty ready for my days off on Sunday and Monday. I think Howard Bear was ready for me to have those days off, too, just so that we could spend some much needed time together.
Sunday was a family visiting day and we dropped in at my parents for a roast dinner, which was really nice. It also meant that I didn’t have to cook and we didn’t have to fork out more money on food (incidentally, today is food shopping day). I also brought home a pretty tub of bluebells for my attempt at a sort of patio garden.
And, as you can see in the picture above of Mr Bear, on bank holiday Monday we went for a nice long walk in the woods. It wasn’t the best weather at the start, but it soon improved. Not that that mattered when I had my lovely Bear with me.
Of course, there were yet more stressful things to occur during this first week of half term and one of those was a computer issue. My laptop had decided to download some updates, but they hadn’t installed properly. So we ended up with it in what seemed like a perpetual cycle of it trying to update then telling me the updates hadn’t configured properly so it was getting rid of them.
And all this time I couldn’t get through to my main screen or anything because it was doing this as soon as I turned the machine on. Luckily, Howard isn’t too bad at sorting machines and by the next night he’d managed to get through in safe mode to refresh the OS (operating system AKA Windows 8).
So that meant another day of reinstalling all of my other programs, including Office, and anything else it had gotten rid of when it had commenced the refresh. Pretty much everything is sorted on the system now, although my mouse occasionally just stops working and then restarts. But that’s happening less and less so I’m not entirely sure what to make of it.
Unfortunately, all this busyness, stress and lack of time have stopped me from getting much further in completing Forgiving Zander, but I did get a little done yesterday before work and I’m hoping to add in a bit more tonight after that desperately needed shopping trip. Provided I can keep my eyes open (today is one sleepy-headed day).
Anyway, don’t forget to keep checking facebook and twitter for more frequent updates!
