This weekend I plan to release an eBook….
Now, there’s no need to panic as #SatSunTails will go ahead as planned. I will also be putting up the results from last weekend later on courtesy of the amazing @DoctorMikeReddy who has fought unexpected flood damage just to get us the winners.
The only difference is that there will be an extra post on Sunday giving you all the information you need to find the eBook online.
It’s called Desecrated Bonds.
The eBook itself has been handled by the amazing GL Drummond (@Scath) of Katarr Kanticles Press and was originally meant to be a part of an anthology where the theme was ‘stalking’. Each of us took a very different approach to the prompt and I’m hopeful that you’ll enjoy the dark places that it led me.
In fact, it encouraged me to start writing Breaking Cadence in the heavy, staggered style that seems to work so well with its darkened plotlines. And darkened plotlines are key to Desecrated Bonds. When I reread it, I like to think of everything in pencil shades of grey except for the character’s own observations.
After the halt of the anthology due to time constraints, I briefly considered extending the short piece into a full length work, but felt that would detract from its value by diluting the storyline far too much. Perhaps, one day, I’ll extend that world into a short series but stretching the current piece into a longer novel certainly wasn’t and isn’t in my interests.
Now, however, Desecrated Bonds has become a standalone short piece that will be available to purchase online. It’s taken a while to get to this stage, but the cover image and the writing support I’ve received from Katarr Kanticles Press has been worth it.
Here is the fantastic cover that @Scath has worked so very hard on for me (and I’m so very grateful):
About:
A crime has been committed leading to the darkest of Desecrated Bonds; but then… nothing is as it should be when you lose your good half forever, doomed always to be stalked by the ghost of your own guilt.
Drowning in death and the supernatural, our heroine has to protect herself from the destruction caused by her own dark nature and come to terms with a loss so deep it will scar her soul for eternity.
Haunted, can she save herself or will this self-imposed spectre control her fate?
At nearly 6k words, it’s perfect as a short read on the bus or to and from work. And where will it be available?
On Sunday you’ll be able to find it on Smashwords and Amazon. After that it’ll filter to other sites such as Diesel and B&N. I’ll add links as we go and you guys will be able to find it easy.
It would also be great if you guys could give a +1 or a tumblr reblog or click the ‘tweet this’ link up on the right hand side or share from the facebook fan page or retweet from my twitter page to spread the word. There are so many options, but it would be really fantastic to have your support.
Thanks guys. Hope you check back on Sunday!
EDIT: The release post is here!
