Two Weeks Later

It could be more. It could be less. I’m not entirely sure. I am extremely apologetic for my absence. Regular readers will know that I occasionally have a tonne of stuff that just all collapses on me at once.

This has happened lately. Mostly it was family things and work slowly getting on top of me but then I took my beloved Pandorica in for her MOT and she failed…

Badly…

The repairs that needed doing were far more than the car was worth, sadly, and so I was faced with no other choice but to find a new car and get rid of my poor baby. As stupid as it may be to get upset over a car, I was really sad to see my car go (when I eventually sorted for her to be taken away).

Worse was that nobody else wanted her except to dismantle her and use her for other cars because the corrosion underneath was so bad. I kind of wish I could have taken her for one last long drive, but I ran out of time…

I eventually got the new car last Monday. Her name is Pretty and she’s a Punto ELX.

Of course, it snowed the day after I got her, which was great. Exactly what you want when you get a new car is to feel it out and learn it’s quirks in snowy, icy weather…

There are only two things really wrong with her and that’s a cracked speaker cover and the lack of a parcel shelf. Luckily, I have a very lovely boyfriend who spoils me too much and who has sorted these two problems (even if he annoyingly won’t let me pay him back for the replacement pieces).

So that’s mostly sorted now, but it has been a pain, a heartache and a bit of a head messer to get to this point. Of course there are other things going on, most of which I cannot go into detail about. Suffice to say my mum has had a few hospital appointments, I’ve been working all sorts of random times, trying to sort stuff for Christmas and there are friend stresses and other family stresses going on. I even have to work Christmas Day this year.

But I get to go Christmas shopping on Sunday accompanied by a very handsome man whom I get to cuddle up to on the train and spend the whole day with, which will be nice instead of working all day Sunday and being shattered before 8pm even arrives.

Anyway, I hope you’re all doing well and that you’ll all tell me what you’ve been up to. Hope you’re all looking forward to Christmas!
