Obviously I haven’t gotten as far as 77 pages in Breaking Cadence yet, but Preying on Time (which is in editing stages) is beyond that. And so here is an excerpt from that:
But what they had was a police officer.
That meant that somebody Violet trusted could be on the other side. If he went straight to the police station they would recognise him and cut him off before he could get word to Violet that she was being watched by one of her own. After what had happened to Logan, protecting Violet was more important than solely protecting himself.
She needed to be warned.
He blinked in the light, reaching the end of the stubby passage. A wider, well-used street opened out before him.
