I’m eating stew. It has no dumplings in it, so I thought I’d make up for that by titling this post after them. I’m also trying to distract myself from the fact that, even though it’s delicious, I’m already starting to feel nauseous eating it. It’s amazing what we’ll do for distractions, isn’t it?

I’ve been going to the pub a lot lately even though I can barely afford it. Luckily, I’m blessed with really good friends who distract me from that and other things while I’m there. Next Saturday I’m going out on a more planned night out with a good friend, too. It gives me something to look forward to this week.

I keep trying to find little things to look forward to, pinning significance on barely important stuff to keep myself going. It’s working for the moment.

There are also other things that I’m avoiding that I still won’t speak of on here. I’m sure it’s just a cause of stress and nothing to really panic about, but I am panicking  and so if that is the real cause of it then it will only be prolonged… which obviously isn’t a good thing.

I’ve edited a little of the WIP. It’s a small accomplishment in the grand scheme of things, but it makes me feel a little less stupid and empty. There are other projects I have lined up after this is complete. One is a second in the series, even though the first is designed to be a standalone novel if needs be. And the other is a project I’ve had in mind for a short while in regards to a dream I had.

It’s tentatively titled Breaking Cadence and I’ve been trying to figure out the plot properly as I’ve been writing the current WIP. Vic and Angela’s comments on a previous blog post have convinced me of how to play out one of the love stories wrapped up in it, but as for how that ends exactly…

I’m still not sure.

In other news, I haven’t bored you all to death with the different places you can connect with me for a while, so here goes a quick link list:

Facebook Fan Page
Writer’s Digest

I know there are an awful lot of sites on that list, but it means I’m accessible in as many different ways as possible. I am considering getting a Tumblr account too, but I’m not quite sure yet. I guess we’ll see if I eventually set one up. If I do, I’m sure I’ll publicise it in my twitter feed and on my facebook page, so if you have those added then it should be easy to find.

I also have an About.me page but that’s more of a landing page to find me on various other sites. However, the background on it is a photograph I took and am rather proud of.

Furthermore, @LadyAntimony has another blog challenge that I’m taking part in on the 29th November. Click the link for more details.

I’ve given up on the stew. It went too cold anyway.

  1. Glad you're finding little things to distract yourself with, and congrats on getting back to edits! As for the other thing, get it over and done with quickly. At least you'll know and you'll be able to decide on what you're going to do, and I'll be there (virtually) holding your hand. Thanks much for the linkage too!

    A xxx

  2. I have stew with dumplings downstairs – beef stew! 😀

I'm glad you're finding distractions to keep your mind occupied about certain things Rebecca 🙂

    Hope you're well

  3. It's a gloomy, rainy day here — now I'm in the mood for stew!

I know it's a struggle right now, but it will get easier as time goes on. Have a fun night out with your friend!

  4. A – I know I should, but I'm kind of terrified of finding out. I'll let you know when I finally do, though. I told my mother & she reckons it's probably stress but that I should check if only to put my mind at rest =/

Rosie – It really is a crime & we had no barley in it either! Sorely disappointed.

Andy – I'm okay for the meantime. I hope you are too. =)

Vicki – Thanks. I'm sure I will have a fun night out with her. =)
