Tablet Roulette

If you follow my twitter, you may be aware that I have been quite ill lately. I may have mentioned in a previous post that I started with a sore throat on the same day that my mum had her mini stroke.

If I didn’t mention it then I am now.

The annoying thing is that it isn’t just a sore throat. Oh no. It certainly isn’t.

In fact, just to make my life a little more stressful, I seem to have gotten tonsillitis from somewhere. My throat is so very swollen and I’ve been given penicillin by the doctor, which I have to take paracetamol and ibuprofen with too. Thus, the title of Tablet Roulette applies as I just feel like I’m playing a game until the right tablet clears out this stupid tonsillitis.

On a brighter note, my mum is feeling a lot better so thank you to all of you on twitter who sent your messages of support. I really appreciated them and they helped an awful lot.

And then there’s the fact that it’s my birthday in just over a month.

My birthday is on the first technical day of the half term holidays (the Monday of that week, anyway), which means I won’t be at work on my birthday. Yay. I don’t know what I will be doing, though. I may just stay in bed.

Somehow I don’t think that would happen. I can stay in bed so long but after a while I need to get up and get dressed. I doubt my parents will let me anyway.

I’m going to be really old this birthday. Okay, maybe not really old but… the oldest I’ve ever been. Of course. This year it’s the good old twenty-one. Traditionally that’s the key to the door but I’ve had that for years so I probably won’t be getting anything.

To be honest I don’t expect anything for my birthday. As I get progressively older I try to pretend more and more that it isn’t happening. I think it just loses its appeal after a while. I’d much rather make other people happy on their birthdays. Anyway, we shall see if my twenty-first year will bring me any more sense.

  1. I remember 21. Oh the fun. I hope you have a GREAT birthday…and wow, I somehow missed it about your mom's mini-stroke. I'm so glad she's doing better!!!

I hope you feel better soon, Rebecca.

  2. Thank you. I hope I do too, but I may just spend it in bed pretending I'm still you 😉

She does seem to be, bar the occasional dizzy spell that worries me.

Thanks dear. I am feeling a lot better than I was. =)
