Mission: Normalisation

You can probably gather that, for little over a month now, I have been dreadfully busy. This is mostly due to the renovation of Master Berserker’s room, friends coming home from university for the summer and dating. I pretty much haven’t written at all and have spent very little time on my own.

So you can imagine my confusion on days when I have nothing to do… How on earth did I used to occupy my time?

The truth is that I used to spend a lot of my time on the SD chatroom talking to people I know whilst writing my novel etc. There are problems with these time occupations now. Firstly, Andrew McCluskey is now barely there so nobody else is either as it means that nobody is constantly in the chatroom to talk to. This is dissolving our little friendship group.

This doesn’t mean to say that I begrudge Andrew getting a job in his dream workplace. Far from it. But, as with everyone else, I do miss talking to him about things.

Secondly, I just haven’t been writing. It’s not that I’m suffering writer’s block. I’m not. I just don’t want to do it. Every now and again these writing holidays happen. They don’t tend to occur for long periods of time. It’s just like needing a break from work, I guess. I enjoy writing immensely, but sometimes it’s like I need to disappear into a dark place and hibernate for a while before I can type up my ideas.

My plan is to pick up with a story that I’ve had hanging around for a far while and that hasn’t been completed. When it’s done, however, I shall release it in PDF form as I did with The Leaking Manuscript not so long ago. You can still access that through the link for free, by the way, on the links page. I would still love some opinions on it after you’ve read it. I don’t seem to have received any really.

I’m quite happy to receive criticism. Really I am!

How am I supposed to hone my skills when I have no feedback? If you have read it and you want to leave a comment below then please do. You don’t need an account or anything to comment here. You just fill in a captcha. I would be incredibly grateful for the feedback. I really appreciate those people who have read it already. It’s nice to know that you’re willing to spend your time reading something that I’ve written for others’ enjoyment.
