Run Down, Reviews, Parents & Progress

Once again, I’ve not been feeling very well over the last couple of days. In fact, I seem to be suffering from yet another cold (no doubt caught from colleagues who like to share). So I apologise if there are any typos or such in this post, but I am feeling very dozy.

Me and Mr Bear. Clearly before I was ill.

Yes, perhaps I should have left an update until I was feeling better. That is true. However, I haven’t updated you in a week due to late nights and visiting sick parents and such.

Perhaps I caught the cold off my parents?

Perhaps… But my mum is the one who has been suffering and not due to a cold. She’s been in a lot of pain, which has had her once again off work – something that she hates to be. So before I started feeling ill I visited her to see how she was.

And also to pinch some plants for my ever growing patio garden thing.

Despite that, I think she appreciated the visit. She spent a lot of time showing me her various creations (paintings and such that she does to pass the time when ill) and we had a nice chat about all sorts of other things. She’s hoping she’ll be well enough to return to work tomorrow, but I guess we’ll see whether that’s the case or not.

Speaking of work, I have been getting along quite well with Baying For Blood. Well, until yesterday and today. The cold and subsequent head fuzziness has rather derailed me. You’ll notice, however, that the word count on my little widget to the right has been steadily increasing. I’m hoping that it will go up a bit more this week as I apparently have more time off work than usual to get some writing in.

I only hope my illness will wear off or go away. Howard Bear has been trying to make me feel better and keep me well stocked on medicine, though, so that might help.

Do you like our photos of pre-ailment cheeriness? He doesn’t like being in photographs much, but I love having pictures of him because they make me smile when I’m stuck without him.

And reviews…

Well, I’ve been trying to drum up some reviews, lately, of my work. This is also alongside buzzing the Katarr Kanticles Press Facebook fan page with plenty of stuff to get readers interested in everything we, as a team of authors, have to offer.

So, of course, I thought I’d combine the two and, in a roundabout way, help other authors to get reviews on their books. Therefore, I created these two images. Both are uploaded to the Katarr Kanticles Press Facebook fan page with the ability for other writers and readers to share the images to remind their wonderful readers how helpful it is for us, as authors, to receive their reviews.

Not only does it make an author feel good and glow on the inside but it shows support of their writing AND it allows other readers to decide whether or not they would like or would want to read their books.

Which means goodness all around!

Anyway, keep supporting your favourite authors, guys. They need you. And some of them need tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. Which is what I’m off to find more of so I don’t sneeze all over my keyboard. Yuck.
